“ We recently ordered takeout from Bombers BBQ for a party of 7 and went with the X-2 Starbuster, which included 2 lbs of pulled pork, 1 lb brisket, 1 lb burnt ends, 40 wings, 2 full slabs of baby back ribs, and 4 quarts of sides. It was a lot of food for 7 people--we had plenty of leftovers that lasted us for days! For our sides, we chose the slaw, pork and beans, jalapeño cheddar cornbread, and sweet potato fries. While most of the meats were flavorful, we did find some of them on the dryer side, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a solid barbecue experience, especially for a big group, though we would have appreciated a bit more moisture in some of the meats. ”

“ Being from Texas, BBQ anywhere outside of the state is always hit or miss but Bombers in Hammond Indiana is definitely a home run. They have a clean industrial interior and counter service. We reviewed the menu for a minute and my wife chose burnt ends and a side of coleslaw. I opted for the two meat plate with brisket and burnt ends with a side of deep fried corn on the cob. It took a few minutes for them to get our order out but it was definitely worth the wait. The burnt ends are to die for and the brisket is perfect with a nice smoke ring and great flavor. The best thing about the meal is they are proud of their meat as they don't try to hide it with sauce although they have several sauces available it's up to you whether or not to use any. If you're coming across the border from Chicago you'd be hard pressed to find better Bbq than what Bombers is offering. ”

“ Starving heading south out of Chicago and stumbled on this spot and beyond happy I did. That brisket melted in my mouth. Their mustard bbq sauce is 5/5. The corn on the cob is to DIE for. So much so, I got another order to go. Mac n cheese is creamy and good but could use a little kick. Dash of hot sauce did the trick. Wish they had more green option on sides but seriously, maybe 3rd best bbq I've ever had!!! Ambience is blah, so get it to go if traveling through and drink a beer while you wait. So worth it!!! ”
